Dedicated Cloud Access
Connect the office or data centre to your cloud over a private path.
Dedicated Cloud Access (DCA) connects supported providers such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. It suits private workloads; start with the origin, region and routes required.
Validate the cloud provider (CSP), region, on-ramp, layer, routing and capacity; other traffic may still use the Internet.
Let’s talk
How it works
Connect your locations to the cloud you use, with clear boundaries.
Office or data centre
Colt connection
Cloud on-rampThree domains, one journey
The office or data centre reaches the cloud provider’s on-ramp through Colt. Associate the connection with the correct cloud network and agree ownership of routing, authorisation and security.
Colt lists connectivity agreements with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle OCI, IBM Cloud and OVHcloud. Validate region, on-ramp and service variant for the project.

Cloud on-rampThe circuit can be healthy while the application is not
Check connection state, routing sessions, prefixes, MTU and capacity limits. Then distinguish cloud networking, DNS, permissions and the performance of the service used by the application.
Measuring only the site port misses part of the journey. Agree evidence and contacts for both domains so an incident does not become a dispute over ownership.

Cloud on-rampTwo paths, including the cloud side
Resisting an outage requires connections and on-ramps suitable for the CSP, with recovery routing. Two circuits ending at one location can share a failure domain.
Internet backup needs an explicit alternative architecture; it does not appear automatically. Test path loss, remaining capacity and application reachability before migration.
Connect to your cloud
From an office or data centre, DCA uses a private path, not the public Internet. We define access, cloud entry point (on-ramp), region and routes. Providers with direct agreements listed by Colt:
- AWS
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud
- Oracle OCI
- IBM Cloud
- OVHcloud
Other options listed by Colt: Salesforce, SAP, Alibaba Cloud.
DCA provides connectivity. Compute, storage and hosting are not included; your CSP bills separately for its services. We validate region, on-ramp and service variant for your project.
Colt Dedicated Cloud Access · new tabIllustrative case: from situation to decision
- Situation
- An office uses a private business application in the cloud alongside Internet browsing.
- Option
- Use DCA for the private flow and retain Internet access for public services.
- Check
- Test routes in both directions, provider permissions and separation of the two flows.
DCA is connectivity; compute, storage and cloud-provider services are contracted separately.
Decisions for your project
- Provider and region
- CSP, on-ramp service, account, region and source locations.
- Routing and permissions
- Prefixes, BGP where applicable, MTU, authorisations and non-overlapping networks.
- Continuity and cost
- Diversity through to the CSP, standby capacity and each party’s charges.
From design to operation
Inventory flows, validate region and access, coordinate with the cloud administrator and test applications before cutover.

What happens next?
- Understand the context
What’s changing, where your teams work and what cannot fail. Still defining the brief? We can help structure it.
- Design the options
Bring needs, Colt capabilities and technical criteria together. Compare alternatives and explain dependencies and limits.
- Validate before committing
Coverage, feasibility, responsibilities and terms. A commercial proposal is developed with the relevant specialists.
ColtPlatinum guides the project and coordinates commercial discussions and follow-up. Colt validates feasibility, enters into the service contract, and provisions, installs and delivers the services.
Availability, coverage, capabilities, SLAs and timelines are subject to technical validation and contract. No diagram is a service guarantee.
